Christmas is a busy time for parcel deliveries. We have been developing our services throughout the year to ensure smooth deliveries on Christmas, as well. Around 1,100 Posti service points and 2,000 parcel lockers are serving customers across Finland.
“We delivered nearly 7 million parcels during last year’s peak season weeks. This year, there will be plenty of parcels on the move as well. We want to ensure smooth deliveries and spread Christmas spirit,” says Laura Inttilä who oversees operations in Posti’s eCommerce and Delivery services.
We have opened over 100 new parcel lockers and expanded tens of popular lockers this year. In total, there are already over 150,000 individual Posti locker doors in Finland.
During the busiest Christmas season, our partners are expanding shelf space for Posti parcels if they have the possibility to do so. In addition, we will be opening 22 temporary pickup points that serve customers during December 2-20.
Parcel locker is most popular for pickups, parcels may arrive on Saturdays
65% of Posti customers prefer to pick up parcels from parcel lockers, according to Posti’s September customer survey.
“We have significantly grown our parcel locker capacity this year, because we want to be close to customers and deliver parcels on their terms. We encourage everyone to pick up their parcel quickly, especially from a parcel locker, since it will benefit others as well,” says Laura Inttilä.
We are also delivering parcels to popular service points and parcel lockers on Saturdays. Saturday deliveries started in October and cover over half of the Finnish population.
