Data protection

Posti and its group companies respect your privacy. Protecting and carefully handling personal data is important to us. On this page, we provide general information about how personal data is processed at Posti:

Collection and use of personal data

To serve you as effectively as possible, we may need to use your personal data. We request personal data, for example, when it is necessary to address your inquiry, when you purchase our services, register for our services, participate in surveys or competitions, or apply for a job at Posti.

We process personal data to provide and maintain Posti’s services, manage customer relationships, inform you about our services, promote sales, and conduct market research. Processing personal data also enables us to offer improved services and customer experiences, as well as to develop and design our services and business to better meet customer needs. In some services, we require your personal data to fulfill legal obligations. Our operations are regulated by specific laws, such as the Postal Act. One of Posti’s key responsibilities is to maintain an address register of postal recipients to support postal operations. We also collect and store data about shipments, including the sender’s and recipient’s personal information, for the purpose of tracking shipments.

The personal data we collect about you may include your name and contact details, such as address, phone number, and email address, internet protocol address, or other identifiers such as usernames, service usage information, billing and transaction data, information about your product or service preferences, preferred contact methods, and information related to your education or job application.

We take the appropriate handling of your personal data very seriously. We treat our customers’ personal data confidentially. Posti implements various physical, technical, and administrative measures to prevent unauthorized access to or misuse of your personal data. Posti uses subcontractors to deliver its products and services, and these subcontractors may process your personal data for the purposes defined by Posti. Access to personal data is granted only to individuals who require it for their work duties and are bound by confidentiality obligations. Personal data is used only to the extent necessary to provide Posti’s services or for other lawful purposes.
