Finns have again remembered loved ones with many Christmas parcels and cards.
Posti delivered 7 million parcels during the five busiest weeks of Christmas.
”A lot of parcels have once again been delivered to parcel lockers, service points, and homes. Parcel lockers are popular, and we have served customers with over 100 new parcel lockers this Christmas season. We will keep working to make sure parcels always get delivered to their preferred pickup place,” says Kaj Kulp, responsible for Posti’s e-commerce services.
Many Christmas cards have also been sent, over 10 million in total.
”Christmas cards are an important part of Finnish Christmas celebrations, and it’s wonderful to see that the tradition is still going strong. Many have again decided to spread joy this Christmas with a traditional Christmas card,” says Sami Määttä, who is responsible for Posti's consumer letter services.
Christmas greetings that need an address clarification at Posti due to a wrong or incomplete address, and Christmas greetings that have been submitted to Posti after the last mailing dates of Christmas are estimated to be delivered by the New Year.

This peak season, Posti items were once again delivered by a constantly growing fossil-free fleet, which includes for example around 500 electric cars and 100 biogas cars. In addition, there are nearly 2,000 light electric vehicles in use. Posti is committed to operating fossil-free by 2030 and being in net-zero when it comes to its own emissions by 2040. We are on our way: in day mail delivery, we reach nearly half of Finnish households with electricity, over 90% in the capital region.
