The season for sending Christmas greetings will begin this week once Posti delivers the red mailing envelopes for Christmas cards to homes. The envelopes are delivered inside Postinen, which is called Joulunen during the Christmas season.
Postinen/Joulunen and the red mailing envelopes will not be delivered to households that have imposed an advertising ban. However, the mailing envelopes can be picked up from all Posti outlets and most retailers that stock stamps.
The red mailing envelope can be used to send Christmas cards with the cheaper no-value indicator stamp for Christmas greetings. Greetings will be delivered in time for Christmas as long as they are dropped off at a Posti outlet or mailbox by Thursday, December 12.
Cards will get to Christmas card sorting faster in a red mailing envelope. The delivery of the Christmas cards sent in a red mailing envelope starts on Monday, December 9. They will be delivered by Christmas.

Stamps are available at stores, kiosks, Posti outlets and online
Christmas stamps became available at stores, kiosks and Posti outlets on November 6. You can also order stamps from Posti’s online shop at www.posti.fi/goshopping .
Via the Posti online store, you can order cards or stamps made using your own photos. You can also find regular postcards and a wide selection of other stamps there.
Remember the correct address
When writing a thick stack of Christmas cards, it’s always a good idea to check that each card has the correct address on it. Each Christmas greeting should include the following information: the recipient’s first and last name, street address and building number, stairway and apartment number, postal code and the name of the city/municipality. You can double check the correct format of street names and postal codes on Posti’s website at www.posti.fi/postinumerohaku.
The correct, up-to-date and accurate address is important for sorting and delivery. If the address is incorrect or incomplete, it can delay delivery to the postal recipient.
