Use Moving Protection to prevent a notification of change of address

What does Moving Protection entail?

With Moving Protection, you can make sure that no one can submit a notification of change of address on your behalf, such as in a situation where your personal information has ended up in the wrong hands.

Strong Moving Protection prevents a notification of change of address entirely, while Light Moving Protection prevents a notification of change of address to be submitted using a printed form.

Has your personal information been stolen?

If your personal information is stolen, it’s a good idea to activate Light Moving Protection.

Light Moving Protection prevents a notification of change of address to be submitted using a printed form but not online. You can still submit a notification of change of address online yourself, or it can be submitted on your behalf by someone else, such as your partner who is moving with you.

The electronic notification of change of address always requires logging in, and the information of the person submitting the notification is stored.

Have your personal information and strong identification information been stolen?

If both your personal information and your online banking credentials or other information that can be used for strong identification have been stolen, enable Strong Moving Protection.

With Strong Moving Protection, you can completely prevent anyone from changing your address. In this case, neither you nor anyone else can make changes or request a mail delivery interruption online or with a paper form until you remove the Strong Moving Protection yourself.

Management of Moving Protection

You can manage Moving Protection settings online. Log in and select: My Information.

To manage Strong Moving Protection, you will need bank credentials or a mobile certificate. Light Moving Protection can also be managed with Posti's own service credentials.

If you can't set or remove Moving Protection online, you can request it by mail.

Include in your request:  

  • A request for Moving Protection  

  • Your personal identity code and name  

  • Your phone number  

  • Your signature

  • If you want Moving Protection for a child under 15 years old, include the guardian's details and the child's personal identification number and name in the request.

When you submit a request to cancel Moving Protection, we’ll always contact you by phone. You’ll receive a confirmation when Moving Protection has been activated.
