Use Moving Protection to prevent a notification of change of address

What does Moving Protection entail?

With Moving Protection, you can make sure that no one can submit a notification of change of address on your behalf, such as in a situation where your personal information has ended up in the wrong hands.

Moving Protection prevents a notification of change of address entirely, while Light Moving Protection prevents a notification of change of address to be submitted using a printed form.

Has your personal information been stolen?

If your personal information is stolen, it’s a good idea to activate Light Moving Protection.

Light Moving Protection prevents a notification of change of address to be submitted using a printed form but not online. You can still submit a notification of change of address online yourself, or it can be submitted on your behalf by someone else, such as your partner who is moving with you.

The electronic notification of change of address always requires logging in, and the information of the person submitting the notification is stored.

You can subscribe to and cancel Light Moving Protection via the notification of change of address service . It will take effect immediately.

Log in > Select: Contact details and disclosure ban > Light Moving Protection > Select “On” 

Have your personal information and strong identification information been stolen?

If both your personal information and your online banking credentials or other information that can be used for strong identification have been stolen, request Moving Protection from Posti.

With Moving Protection, you can completely prevent anyone from changing your address. You won’t be able to make changes or have anyone make changes on your behalf either online or using a printed form. Neither can you request a mail delivery interruption as long as the protection is active.

Requesting Moving Protection online

Log in > Select: My information > Feedback: Contact customer service -> Moving Protection, feedback about Mail forwarding or Nearby Mailbox. Select “I want to activate Posti Moving Protection” and enter your phone number.

You will receive a personal confirmation when Moving Protection has been activated. Everyone over the age of 15 must request Moving Protection themselves.

Requesting Moving Protection by mail  

Include in your request:  

  • A request for Moving Protection  

  • Your personal identity code and name  

  • Your phone number  

  • Your signature

Send the letter to:

You’ll receive a confirmation when Moving Protection has been activated.

Requesting Moving Protection for a minor 

If you are requesting Moving Protection for a child under the age of 15, you must write the child’s name, the names of the child’s parents or guardians and everyone’s phone numbers in the field for additional information. We’ll also need a document proving that you are the child’s parent or guardian or the signatures of both of the child’s parents or guardians.  

How to cancel Moving Protection

You can submit a request to cancel Moving Protection online . Log in > Select: My information > Feedback: Contact customer service -> Moving Protection, feedback about Mail forwarding or Nearby Mailbox. Select “I want to disable Posti Moving Protection” and check that your phone number is correct.

You can also cancel Moving Protection by sending a freeform letter to the same address as the request for Moving Protection.
