Why a Cash on Delivery parcel?
When you send a Cash on Delivery parcel, the recipient can only acquire the parcel by paying the amount set by you.
As the sender, you will automatically receive the payment in your account within 4 business days.
The recipient doesn’t have to send money to a stranger in advance. They will not pay for the parcel until the pick it up.
The Cash on Delivery parcel is a safe option, for example, if you’re buying or selling stuff sent by mail.
The way the Cash on Delivery parcel works
When you buy a parcel delivery online
Pack the parcel in advance. Read the packaging instructions.
To start, select a size that matches the outer dimensions of the parcel. The maximum weight is 25 kg.
Select COD (Cash on Delivery) as a supplementary service.
Specify the amount payable by the recipient at pickup. The maximum amount is EUR 2,000.
Enter the account number to which the amount is payable as well as any reference number. Enter the IBAN account number of a bank operating in Finland.
Enter all the other information required for sending the item.
Pay for the item and save the Helposti code. You can find the Helposti code on the confirmation page after you’ve paid for the item. We will also send you the code by email.
Write the Helposti code on the parcel or print out and attach the address label sent to you by email on to the parcel. Write the recipient’s name and address as well as your own details on the parcel. Drop off the parcel at a convenient Posti Parcel Locker or Posti outlet.
The recipient picks up the parcel at a Posti outlet or a Posti Parcel Locker.
If picking up the parcel at a Posti outlet, the recipient has to pay the amount determined by you in order to receive it.
If the item is directed to a Posti Parcel Locker, the recipient will receive an SMS with a link to the COD payment. After payment, the recipient automatically receives the Posti Parcel Locker details and opening code via SMS.
The amount is transferred to the sender within 4 business days of the payment.
