General information about submitting a notification of change of address
You can submit your notification of change of address through Posti and Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s mutual change of address notification service. To identify yourself, you’ll need your online bank user ID or your Posti username.
In the same notification, you can also list the family members who are moving with you.
You must submit a notification of change of address to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency each time you permanently move from one address to another or when your temporary residence at another address lasts for more than three months. Your address determines your taxation municipality, voting location and entitlement to specific social security service, among other things.

We’ll automatically redirect any letters sent to your old address to your new address.
If you’d also like us to redirect magazines sent to your old address to your new address, you'll need to use the Posti Relocate service. When you submit your change of address online you gain access to the Posti Relocate service for one month free of charge. You can also subscribe to the Posti Relocate service for one year.
We do not redirect the following items to your new address:
parcels
mail other than mail delivered by Posti
We’ll deliver parcels according to the address on the parcel, including Small Parcels, which are delivered to your mail slot. If you’ve set a My Pickup Point for your parcels in OmaPosti, remember to change it to a location suitable to you.
Please note that the Posti Relocate service only applies to mail delivered by Posti and that mail is also delivered by operators other than Posti.
Ordered online, the price of the service is € 45.14/12 months.
Ordered using a printed form, the price of the service is € 60.47/12 months.
Who will be notified of your new address?
Various companies and organizations will be automatically notified of your new address when you submit a notification of change of address. This means that you don’t have to separately notify all senders of your move. Instead, your mail is automatically sent to your new address without having to redirect it. However, you’ll still need to let people such as friends and family know of your new address yourself.

Stopping your data from being updated
If you don’t want companies and organizations that send you mail to be notified of your new address, you can turn off your address update service. You should bear in mind, though, that it doesn’t remove your details from these senders’ customer register, which will then just contain your old details instead. If you disable the update service, remember to let all senders know of your new address individually.
To stop your data from being updated:
Log in to the notification of change of address service > “Contact details and update service” > Address update service “Off”. You can also mail a free-form written request to Posti Ltd, P.O. Box 777, FI-00011 Posti, Finland.
If you want to prohibit direct marketing, prohibit each company in question separately or submit your request to the Data & Marketing Association of Finland’s prohibition register.

Submitting the notification for someone else
You can submit a notification of change of address to Posti on behalf of another person even if you’re not the one moving. To do this, log in to the service with your credentials and select “I’m submitting the notification on behalf of another person. I’m not moving myself.” If you’re also moving yourself, you can list the persons moving with you in the same notification.
When you submit a notification of change of address on behalf of another person, your details are also saved at the same time. The person on whose behalf you’re submitting the notification receives a confirmation.
As a person under the age of 15 can’t submit a notification of change of address on their own, if a young person moves alone, the notification of change of address must be submitted by a guardian.
If you can’t see “I’m submitting the notification on behalf of another person” in the service, you have enabled Moving Protection and you can’t submit the notification on behalf of another person. How to cancel Moving Protection.

Mail of the estate of a deceased person
You can make changes to the mail delivery of the estate of a deceased person via the electronic notification of change of address service . In the service, you can perform a change of address for the estate. Log in to the service with your credentials and select: “I’m submitting the notification on behalf of another person. I’m not moving myself.”
You can’t submit a change of address for an estate to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
Moving abroad
When you move abroad from Finland, we’ll redirect to your new address any letters weighing up to 50 g sent to your old address. With Posti Relocate, we’ll send letters weighing under 250 g.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to redirect any other items to your new address, such as parcels or magazines, which will be returned to the sender or processed as undeliverable. Please remember to let any senders who aren’t automatically notified of your change of address know of your new address.
If your stay abroad is temporary, you can subscribe to Posti’s fixed-term forwarding service. We’ll then forward letters weighing up to 250 g to your new address abroad and, when the fixed term has ended, your mail will be once again delivered to your old home address. Alternatively, you can have your mail forwarded to a friend’s address in Finland.
If you move to a new address abroad, you should submit a new change of address from your old address in Finland to your new address abroad. This way, any mail from Finland will be sent to your new address abroad. The postal service of your country of residence abroad is responsible for forwarding any mail sent to your old address in said country.
Parallel address
If you wish to receive mail at an address other than your permanent address, such as your summer cottage, you can submit a parallel address notification. We’ll deliver the item according to the address indicated by the sender.
